The year is now slowly but surely to an end and what can I say ... and musically it was not bad.
And so have I now taken under custody again spontaneously occurring labor pain, the time to make a personal top 5 in terms of newly published, and to me commercially purchased CDs. And here it is:
first Mastodon - Crack the Sky
My absolute high-light the way music technically this year. Even if it's more or less a concept album is this and I actually kind of not really like it. But still ... what is on offer in this Silberling, has exceeded my wildest expectations. Voices back from front to back and back again. The best that Mastodon have been delivered.
second Isis -. Wavering Radiant
Well ... long live "Oceanic and Panopticon" ... there comes so quickly ran anything about this combo of clean post-metal, but also have the new bruising it in and have really little to be desired however. then the last kick I miss somehow But definitely a musical treat of the past year
third Red Sparowes -.. Aphorisms (EP)
Actually, this CD just a small taste of the spring next album and if the same. varied and ingenious, is then as next Year already saved. What is offered in about a half hour sets, in this area in my opinion, absolutely the bar very high on. Musically very unusual and always good for a small, barely audible but brilliant surprise. However, we already have to listen closely.
4th Russian Circles - Geneva
Who would have thought that the guys as soon throw a new album on the market. Finally, the "Station" not even a year old have been when the new work has been published. So I was really surprised and quite honestly, what have since been delivered to Russian Circles extensive material. Although somewhere remained faithful to the style, but also some New in the area of the post offered Rocks.
5th The Hellacopters - Head Off
Yes yes ... I know. Our farewell was published already in 2008. I have discovered there are only at the beginning of this year. What we hear there are "only" cover versions, but honestly ... from the originals I had never heard of. And so this album is a masterpiece of well-kept rock 'n' Roll, which can be quite simple and dirty. If I have a bad mood ... for a few bars from that album and I have another big grin on his face.
that in mind ... I hope that the next year as well as diverse and is interesting. And not just in the musical field
